The Technical University of Madrid (UPM), is a leading university in Technical studies, and comprises a number of higher education Schools including Architecture, Civil Engineering, Aeronautics, Telecommunications, and Agriculture; with the oldest schools founded in the 18th century. UPM has about 3,500 faculty and research staff and over 37,000 students. In the environmental area, UPM is, amongst others, partner in the European Environment Agency Topic Centre on Climate Change Adaptation (ETC-CCA), has participated in 150 FP7 financed projects, and is the Spanish University with the highest number of approved FP7 and H2020 environment-related projects.
